Sunrise Beach Lodge is situated within a small fishing village, Russell Heads, on absolute beachfront 30km south of Cairns. There is no road access to Russell Heads which provides a quiet, laid back holiday experience.Surrounded by tropical islands, beaches and rainforest you can simply relax or explore each ecosystem.The lodge has all the comforts of a modern home, with private views of the ocean, islands and rainforests.
The journey to Sunrise Beach Lodge is a unique aspect of this location, where there is no road access.You can choose from either a 20 minute personalised boat ride along the Mulgrave River from the Deeral boat ramp – which is approximately 30 minutes drive south from Cairns – or charter a helicopter from Cairns.
The seclusion of Sunrise Beach Lodge is ideal for those seeking a remote getaway. Accommodation is based on a holiday let arrangement, whereby you have sole use of the house and the amenities.
The Frankland Islands are just offshore – a haven for snorkellers, divers, fishermen and those that love to explore remote beaches, headlands and islands. There is a tropical rainforest and freshwater waterfall within a short stroll along the beach.
Sportsfishing, gamefishing, snorkelling and sightseeing charters are available from this destination and all local tours can also be arranged from Sunrise Beach Lodge.

Drive along Highway until you come to DEERAL. Your hosts will transfer you by boat to Russell Heads which is located at the mouth of the River (overlooking the Frankland Islands).
